In July 2007 Maxwell was invited to create an installation in the Cloister area of the Church of St. Bartholomew the Great, West Smithfield , London. Using materials often found in churches, Maxwell created a sculpture entitled 'Meter', drawing on Franklin’s investigations of electricity, this light sculpture consists of 200 kgs of microcrystalline wax and several cold cathode strip lights. The cathode tubes and their positioning allude to an investigative scientific experiment involving properties of the wax.
